An assortment of randomness...

My car is both annoying and extremely satisfying. My car is not tuned to start in cold weather, and so, well, it doesn't. It does fine here like this most of the time because it's garaged. It rarely gets cold enough in the garage to cause a problem, but this past weekend, it did. And nugget's car has a flat, so we couldn't even use that for transportation. And... To continue the list of annoyances, my car's due for it's annual state inspection, which for this county, now includes emissions testing. My car absolutely will not pass emissions testing as it is right now, but it should be able to be tuned for this. But I haven't had the time to take the car by the shop, and it's nearly the end of the month. Grumble. And yet, my car is so much fun to drive. It's so well balanced and so nimble, it just flows through the corners. It accelerates beautifully. A turn that would have been pulling out in front of someone is now just making efficient use of space. It's such a happy car, and it has been from day one. The supercharger hasn't changed that, it's just allowed the car to do more.

I recently had a character hit level 60 in WoW. That's the highest level possible (at least for now). She's my Night Elf Hunter, and she's working on getting the Winterspring Frostsaber... Well, she would be if she wasn't constantly gathering things for other characters to use. I'm trying to get my druid up to 60, and geared for healing, and learn how to actually heal with her, so I can join endgame with that character. My warrior just hit 40, and I'd love to run some instances on her, too, and learn to tank. And the new priest talents will be coming out soon, and they look great, so I want to play my priest more, as well. So much to do, and so little time.

I have a work-provided laptop, on which I run the needed Windows XP Pro, and the wanted but not so needed Gentoo. Since buying the iBook, I've left that laptop mostly in Windows. I have a few Windows only things I need to do that won't work with WINE, Crossover Office, or even VMWare, and since buying the iBook, I haven't needed to use the work laptop for all my other daily activities. So finally, today, I booted Gentoo on the laptop, updated my portage tree, and went to see what wanted or needed updating. There were a few packages blocking the main compile, and since I don't really suspect I need them anymore, I removed them. I started the world update before I left work for the evening. I'll see how bad the errors are tomorrow. :) I'm also starting to think it's time to upgrade my FreeBSD machine to 6... One of these days. A reinstall would be my perfect chance to add the 40G drive I have laying around here (it's currently running with only one 20G). One of these days it might be nice to upgrade the rest of the hardware, but... Well, it's enough.

Vroom! I'm sort of surprised that your car won't pass emissions, but sort of not. :)

VPN related stuff. It detects that it's running in VMWare and refuses to try to connect. It will only run on Windows and is extremely, extremely picky.
