I am insane - Equiraptor's Journal
I am insane
I've been driving around with the top down in the car. It's been cool, but I enjoy it. On my way in today, it was somewhere between 34F and 36F (1C and 2C). I was perfectly warm. The hat, scarf, gloves, sweatshirt, and car's heater do their job. It's really quite impressive. What a great little car.

I think everyone at work thinks I'm insane.

Just don't tell us that you've become sick next week. :P

I do the same with my windows and music though really. Maybe I just want attention. To have someone say hey dude, that's good music you got going. Or something.. lol

I was sick last week. My throat still feels a little funny.

And my motivation is probably in part, "I can drive without a roof, can you?"

While I don't have a convertible, I also enjoy cool/cold air with the windows down and the contrast of the car heater blowing full throttle. :)

I don't enjoy cold air, at all. I don't feel much of it while driving the way I do, either.... I'm wrapped up so much the air doesn't get to me. It's more a, "I can and you can't, so I do!" thing. :D

Don't worry, not everyone at work thinks you're insane. Everyone on IRC and Livejournal thinks so too.

But I shouldn't say anything since us Dutch walk voluntarily outside for hours in the freezing cold, after which we sit on an freezing outdoor patio ordering a beer or wine. But the warm Gluhwein was very good. http://ivo.nu/photos/basel2004/strasbourg3 *Prost*!

As do I, as do I!

I think they have no sense of fun. I've heard about convertible owners in the Northeast doing this when winter shortchanges them for top-down time.

I've read that it's wonderful to drive top down in the snow... Very quiet and peaceful. I doubt I'll ever get the chance here in Austin (no way I'm driving with other Austinites when it snows - they can't even handle rain!).

Re: hey I'm new in the area

Something I didn't mention in the email - you could also check this page for Miata clubs in the "South Central United States." It looks like there's at least one other DFW area club.

Hey Monica,

I love your journal layout.
I never successfully loggedd onto the irc server y'all use and maybe i dare not risk downloading anymore programs onto my moms's lapotp, but how did you recommend i join it through xchat.

Mea culpa. Sorry for all the lingo I destroyed.
I wish my car turned a little better. My parkign skills seem to get worse eveyr day.

You do realize that has nothing to do with being topless in 30 degree weather, right?

Some people never change.

The only time you put that damned top up is when it's raining.
