One tough truck - Equiraptor's Journal
One tough truck

Nearly 100MB, and around 12 minutes long. It starts with an Australian commercial for a Toyota truck. It then goes on to see what is required to destroy an old Toyota pickup. It's quite a video, and though some of the tests could have been a little tougher, it's still amazing how much the truck can survive.

Edit: Another video of destructive attempts: http://www.nmd.com.au/Download_detail.cfm?ID=48

Top Gear is such a great show. I always enjoy it when I can catch it when I'm in the UK. I really wish BBC America would pick it up here.

It's true

Top Gear is excellent. I've downloaded a few episodes here and there. I like the McLaren F1 show they did.

My dad had a very similar Nissan pickup... all it takes to kill it is about 200K more miles... or more, I suppose, since aside from the rust, the only mechanical problem was the water pump went out... and put the fan through the radiator. Dad just didn't want to fix it anymore.

I loved watching that when it was broadcast a few month back, amazing what these machines can take.

Interestingly (at least for me) Bristol is my nearest big city here and I know the area well, esp the notorious Severn Bore Tide which can out run a horse apparently :-)

Another thing is that top gear did another show where they made even greater efforts to finally kill the toyota..

Re: more..

That truck is just incredible. The seawater thing is what really gets me. But that it still rolled under its own power after that fall... Wow.
