Okay, I don't *think* I killed their plants - at least, not most of them. And I didn't over-oil their car, I just added a lot. When it burns a quart of oil for every tank of gas, you add a lot of oil.

Bah. Evil won. I believe this means UT is #2, Cal State Fullerton #1, in college baseball, in the US this year. *sigh* Well, we went in ranked #2, so at least someone got something right?

It's too early in the morning. Okay, maybe not, it's just too soon after my nap.

This past week has been quite a week. I've put a ton of miles on my car. My parents are in Omaha for the College World Series, and they have quite a few cats that need care. They currently have kittens, and two of the kittens became sick. Everyone's fine now, but I needed to go to their house two to three times a day, depending on the condition of the kittens. I also started a new job this past week - in Georgetown. So, my parents house is roughly 10 miles further into Austin, and this new job is about 21 miles out from here. All in all, I've been putting around a hundred miles a day on the car. Fortunately, that's stopping now. The kittens only need care once a day again, which makes things a lot simpler.

Then new job is great. I'm getting to work with a bunch of other computer geeks on alpha and beta servers. I'm in the Beta OS group. Our goal is basically to install the beta-ish operating systems on beta hardware, and then put a lot of load on the things, and figure out what breaks, what errors, and how. One of my two current boxes has 8G RAM. We're hoping to get a terabyte raid volume on there, with Reiserfs, and just see how much it can push out. Weee.

In other news, one of the last games of the College World Series is happening now. The University of Texas and Cal State Fullerton are the final two teams. CS Fullerton won the first game, and UT is currently leading the second, 2-0. Something of note: From a UT sports perspective, California is evil. This isn't meant as a reflection on the people or the schools, and I'm not even entirely sure why, but I've always been taught that California teams and Florida teams are both evil. Arkansas beats them for evil level because of some past cheating (which was one of the things that destroyed the Southwest Conference), but Arkansas rarely makes it to this level of competition (at least in my limited experience). So, at least for my family, this isn't just a series to decide the #1 college baseball team in the country, it's a series of Good vs. Evil for the #1 spot. Ahhh, the sport-prejudices I've been taught.
