Ruth had her Hanukkah party last night (I've been told there's 17 different ways to spell Hanukkah... we'll see if I can figure out one). Good food, good people, a nice time. Two of my favorite Hanukkah foods are latkas (potato pancakes) and soofganiot (something vaguely approaching donut holes rolled in sugar and cinnamon). Yum.

A price for the 94 M Edition Miata was agreed upon yesterday, and nugget and I should be going to get it the first weekend in January. Yay Miatas!

I've been working on my website some. It's still terrible and really lacks content, but its' better than it was before. I'm using css, which is really helping. I have basically no idea what I'm doing, but between tutorials and w3.org, I'm getting things done.

And now I sit and wait patiently for January.

Current Mood: restless restless

Yay 94Ms.

Actually, the correct spelling is חֲנוּכָּה, but I'm just being pedantic. :) This page also has a recipe for latkes.

Congratulations on the Miata!

(I'm not sure whether the Hebrew word above will render correctly. Firebird on Windows seems to have trouble composing the vowel points correctly, but I'll have to post this to try on other browsers.)

Ok, there's 17 different accepted translations? And it renders in some shape or form in Firebird on Gentoo, but I'm not sure if it's the "correct" form...

A piece of a screenshot:

That's what it looks like for me too. The little dots and marks are supposed to be combined with the letter to their right. IE on Windows shows it properly for me, and the page I linked to has an image representation of the correct letters.

The spelling of words from languages with non-Roman alphabets is not an exact science. For example, this article from straightdope.com talks about the different spellings of the Libyan leader's name (Ghaddafi). The political commentary in there is perhaps a bit dated, but the linguistic issues are still relevant.

But I digress.

Safari seems to do just fine.

Show-off. :-P

Almost. The dot associated with the middle letter is supposed to be on the left hand side of the letter and not touching it. :p

We need to find somebody who can add Hebrew to the tacos shirt.

There's a slim possibility Ruth could, or that she could find someone. Hopefully I'll remember to mention it when I see her tomorrow. :)

Congrats on the car. It's about time you shed away the Camry.
